As planned, we went on a trip to Donostia-San Sebastián today. Our first destination was the Apple Shop. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a workshop. So we first strolled through the surrounding shopping streets. It's a good thing that Hdctor can't take any more excess baggage. Otherwise there would have been plenty of opportunities for shopping. - As we haven't had breakfast yet, we sit down in one of the many taverns and have breakfast right at the bar. - Very cool, there are various small snacks on the counter and you can take whatever you fancy. The coffee, a cortado, also tastes excellent.
With enough caffeine, we set off to visit the harbor and the Playa de La Concha. The shell shape that gives the bay its name makes it special. San Sebastian is therefore blessed with two beautiful beaches. Directly adjacent, we come across an imposing building, the town hall. From here, the old town opens up as a maze of small alleyways. - Many small stores and lots of taverns. Hams hanging everywhere. Locals and visitors stand together, gesticulating, drinking wine and eating tapas. In the middle of it all is the Basílica de Santa María del Coro, which was built on an old temple in the 18th century.
Finally, we come across a branch of the Rubber Ducks Shop in Amsterdam. Very quirky!
