Torgit: When I wake up in the morning, I'm happy because the storm has spared us. The night was a bit stormy, some gusts shook the lifting roof quite a bit, but the sound of the rain was almost a bit romantic. This could be because it was just a warm country shower, because we hadn't had any rain for a long time or because I hadn't noticed that it was raining into the front footwell again.
Later, over coffee, we think about what to do. It feels like all the local Germans are warning of the storm, preparing and waiting. The calm before the storm. You definitely get this feeling when you open facebook, severe weather warnings are spread in various groups and photos of dismantled awnings are posted a la 'we are prepared'. The locals around us are much more relaxed about it. They didn't even notice the weather forecasts. Now, of course, you could ask: is this a typical German mentality? Or: What is right or more right? Shouldn't the question rather be: What makes me happier? You can argue about it for a long time. In any case, I first put the solar panel on the hood, where it is quite sheltered from the wind and optimally aligned with the sun. What I have, I have. I can always take the panel down again.
Then I first go for a walk outside or to the beach. Because the beach always makes me happy. What makes you happy? Do you know that? Can you put it into practice? Or rather: do you put it into practice? How often do you prepare these moments of happiness for yourself? What can you do to enjoy more of these moments of happiness?
I'm just realizing again on the beach how happy I am and I'm grateful for that. One thing is to have a good life, the next is to realize it and then the next step is to be grateful for it.
I am grateful for our freedom. And I realize that freedom was so foreign and unfamiliar to us that we first had to learn it on our journey.
What I love about our location here is that we have mountains and the sea. From the beach, I can see the Paraje de Betis mountain, which we hiked up at sunrise a few days ago. It brings back great memories.
I enjoy the afternoon with yoga on the beach in the lee of Bibo's restaurant. Thank you so much Bibo. We'd love to eat at your place, but unfortunately you're on winter break.
It's really warm in the sun, which the weather forecast says we won't see for a week. The rain clings to the mountains behind us. We enjoy the sun, the peace and quiet and a lazy day on the beach.
When a small rain shower comes late in the afternoon, it's a welcome opportunity to cook. We have salad with roast potatoes. Simply delicious.
The evening belongs to the blog. Maybe we'll try something new: Pinterest. Is that what we want? Another platform? Do we need it or what added value does it offer us? We're not quite sure yet. If you have an opinion on this, please give us a call 😉
