Pixel camouflage instead of camouflage cloak:
A magical cloak of invisibility appears again and again in the Harry Potter books. Simply put it on and you are invisible.
Who hasn't wished for a camouflage cloak like this? In Germany, the so-called hunter's green is a permanent fixture in forests and fields. As we all know, the Americans always go one step further. Here, camouflage clothing is an integral part of hunting culture. Do we still have to have reservations about camouflage patterns for traditional reasons? I believe that even pacifists can wish to be invisible. And that's exactly what we want. When we are out in the wild, we want to irritate people and animals as little as possible.
UCP - Universal Camo Pattern:
That's why we came up with a few ideas. We came across a pixelated universal camouflage, called UCP - Universal Camo Pattern. - These are also available in shades of gray. We found this less militant than camouflage, camouflage or woodland camouflage.
As chance would have it, we came across someone who drives a SpaceCamper in this kind of camouflage. - We met and were immediately impressed. - Thank you Kai.
Urban Camo:
Allegedly, this camouflage is also supposed to work in urban areas, which I doubt. But that wasn't so much the point.
Whether the bus looks better as a result is certainly, like many things, a matter of taste. A project like this is likely to polarize opinion. Even my friend Micha vehemently advised against it. But I can be stubborn and agree with Ulrich Erckenbrecht in this respect:
"You should only argue about taste with those who have it."
Mouse gray, i.e. pure gray:
Therefore, for Micha once again in mouse gray, for VW pure gray - but we are already further along. Our pixel camouflage was customized according to our wishes. The implementation as digital printing, car wrapping, was carried out by Foliencenter NRW in Haan. I had previously looked at two other wrappers. But in the end, as is usually the case, it's a matter of gut feeling. In addition to the friendly manner of the boss, the decades of experience spoke in my favor. - We are definitely satisfied. Whether the project achieves the desired effect in the end remains to be seen. But we can already see from the first photos and film recordings that it works. The colors are not clearly displayed. Sometimes the car looks green in pictures, sometimes purple. The last attempt? No, we're sticking with PlanB. It is still gray, no longer pure gray, but more Fifty Shades of Grey.
Our camper conversion is now entering the final phase. The storage boxes are already packed and stowed away. We will report on this separately. - All that's missing now is the completion of our water tanks and the rear rack. But we won't get to that until next week. - Finally, a few impressions of the individual phases of the wrapping.
