Before we extinguished the light last night, there was a short visit to the Guarda Nacional Republicana - but the gentlemen have only once looked after the right. So we could go to bed well protected. - It was a good decision to keep the roof closed tonight. The wind was blowing quite hard, but it died down in the morning. Instead the sun shone. - We slept a little restless, the bed downstairs is a little tight, but wonderfully cozy. But the coziness had a bitter end as soon as we paid a visit to our outdoor shower. Immediately it was clear, 13 degrees are not cozy and the wind was still enough to blow you dry but also leave goosebumps. So quickly put on a coffee. - Today there is fruit muesli for breakfast. - After that I complete our instagram profile, I still have to get used to the style. I realize I'm getting old, the last profile I filled out when I was twelve or thirteen. The girls in my class regularly pressed a card into your hand. Write something about yourself, height, hair color, favorite music, hobbies, etc. - At least you had a whole page at your disposal and not just 150 lines. - Torgit tells me that she had glued an envelope in the front of her Japankladde, which were the black ones with the red corners. That way, she could customize her own profile as she pleased. - Just don't commit, that's what she kept. (Note from Torgit: I married you and we have the blessing of a Tibetan lama. So not only until death do us part, but also for all future lives. You can't commit more than that, can you?)
We drive down to the beach, Torgit goes for a walk, I first sit down behind a large boulder. Protected by the wind, the 16 degrees feel almost warm. Later we eat a salad in second still open restaurant. What drove us to change the restaurant after yesterday's top enjoyment is not clear to me in retrospect. - We would have been better off leaving it. I still walk a little through the water. But slowly we are cooled down.
We drive a little along the coast, first north, then south again. In the north we come to a long sandy beach. We see a cafe on both sides, it is cake time. But on our side it is closed. So we think about going to the other side. But that is not so easy, a small river blocks our way. Then, nevertheless, the car? - But this is Portugal, although in sight would be the driving time according to Google about 25 minutes. Then just no cake.
For the night we choose a very lonely place,* in the middle of a heath landscape on one of the cliffs. Between us and the sea, there are only a few ruins. One is decorated with a cherry graffiti about one meter high. Whether this is the true Piedmont cherry? We do not know. - So we enjoy the sunset in the car. Unfortunately a cloud swallows the last minutes. - But we enjoy it anyway, we listen to some music:
Our music tip of the day: Damien Rice - The Blower's Daughter -
"And so it is just like you said it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is the shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her sky"
Today we have again our indefinable vegetable soup, with leeks, onions, carrots, pointed cabbage and potatoes. The whole thing is spiced with curry paste, garlic and bell pepper paste. For me, there are also some merguez. - Torgit notes a bay leaf from home garden would be in there too. - I didn't know Hector had a garden, I'll have to check tomorrow.
Insight of the day: Even if a restaurant is full, trust your instincts! - Think of the flies...
...poop does not taste.
Addendum*: I have added the asterisk above. As for "quite lonely place" - far after sunset we see a diverse headlights coming towards us. - First we switch off the light. - Guarda Nacional Republicana? - No, it's a convoy of surfers who met on the beach. The North Germans fall over us 😉 Tomorrow more about that. Now I pick up first of all the beer, which I was promised full-bodied.
