It was a bit stormy in the region tonight. But contrary to Torgit, I slept very well. But the view from the window in the morning doesn't bode well. It's raining again. So I decide to take a look at the weather app first. Weather-Pro and Wetter online both promise us that the sun will shine from 11:00. Confident, we first make ourselves a cup of coffee. So let the day begin calmly and then we want to hike in the sun.

But somehow, every weatherman used to be more reliable than any high-tech app today. Instead of sunshine, we get rain. - In the afternoon it at least clears up briefly, so we go into town and to the beach. As soon as we arrive, it starts raining again. You don't want to stand on the cliff for long. - So we head back to the van. - Could someone please tell Peter to let a little sunshine out on Sunday.

But there are not only negative things to report. When we get back to the campsite, we try out the mini market that belongs to the campsite. I would have imagined mini to be something else. Just to give you an example: Does anyone expect to find five types of vegan milk in a mini market like this? You see, we don't either. And we find sun here too, at least Capri sun. You should have seen the beer and wine shelves first. - And the gas bottle that we ended up spending a whole day looking for is here among various other takeaway options. So if you are ever in Zambujeira, we can wholeheartedly recommend this campsite.

When we arrive at the Bulli, I use the time to ask in the various VW Bulli forums whether anyone has any tips on our rear light. And we even get a few interesting suggestions. - As soon as it's halfway dry, I'll have a look. I'm curious to see whether the swarm knowledge has more expertise than the local VW partner.

Is there anything better to eat on a cold, rainy day than soup? Certainly not, which is why we're having pumpkin soup tonight. We think it's perfect for fall and grimy weather. Anyone who knows us knows that we love to eat. - Food makes us happy! But we also like to cook. We've often lacked the time to do so in Cologne. But here we not only have time, we can also find delicious, fresh fruit and vegetables, at least almost always. We particularly like the fruit stands by the roadside. Torgit sometimes overdoes it a little. But you can't eat too many vitamins, after all.

The ingredients of our pumpkin soup: A nice small pumpkin, because we even have a choice of different sizes here. Carrots, onions, fresh ginger, a little Portuguese paprika (instead of German vegetable stock), red curry paste, a dash of soy sauce, a can of coconut milk, cook, blend, done. I added a little bacon, choriço sausage and onions in a frying pan. Torgit would have liked a few more prawns, but we didn't make it to the harbor this morning. Speaking of mixing, I think we're the only ones with a magic wand in the van. At least people always look at us a bit funny when we tell them about it. - In this context, by the way, a tip about a cool purchase. Shortly before the tour, we treated ourselves to a GSI Outdoor pressure cooker. All I can say is super practical. Thanks Thiemo!
