We will certainly remember yesterday evening for a long time. - Together with Ilona, we went to Alex. Alex is Brazilian and has worked as a chef in Berlin, London, Lisbon and who knows where else. - But we don't get to know him in the urban jungle, we are guests at his small finca. When we arrive, we are not only offered a place at his table as a matter of course, but we are also allowed to spend the night on his land. Shortly afterwards, Hector is standing by a small lake. - As Alex has broken his leg, we want to give him a hand and offer to chop the onions. - He laughs and within seconds we realize that we are guests in a chef's house. The onions are expertly chopped within seconds. - Alex bought this piece of land in the middle of nowhere a few months ago. His tiny house is made from two old overseas containers. But it's not so small on the inside. - Above all, it's cozy, just like the group. The food is delicious. We were able to contribute two bottles of wine.
We wake up a little later today. - After coffee, I try a few shots with the drone. Our way of saying thank you to Alex. As we say goodbye to him, Ilona, Geronimo and the children, you realize that it's not about whether you spent a lot of time together, but how intense that time was.
The sun is shining and Torgit and I are drawn to the sea again. We want to go to the Praia do Barril - either way, it's said to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the eastern Algarve. The way to the beach reminds us a little of SPO - just like in St. Peter Ording, you'll find a dune landscape, miles of golden sandy beach and crystal-clear water. However, there are no houses on stilts, nor beach sailors. Where there used to be a tuna fishing fleet, there is now an anchor graveyard. This is why we came here. But this remnant from the past is nowhere near as exciting as we thought. However, the beach is all the more rewarding. We sit by the sea for a while and enjoy the North Sea feeling on the Atlantic.
Later, we make our way to the beach. But more on that tomorrow.
