Except for the dog barking in the morning, we slept very well. Tonight we even had the sliding door open. Sleeping with the door open is like leaving the patio door open, just a piece of freedom. The place is actually nice, but we still decide to drive about 20 kilometers further south. (Torgit points out that everything before the comma is a lie. Who told her that?). We want to go to Vila Nova de Milfontes, because there is the next laundromat. A laundry day is more than overdue.
Since the whole landscape seems to be packed in absorbent cotton, we don't have to hope for sun anyway. So we spend a few hours in the laundromat. The way Torgit finds his way around the laundromat at lightning speed reminds me of the song of the same name by BAP:
"As you optritts en dämm Laade - Un direk en leer Maschien entdecks - Und die Jebrauchsahnweisung nevvenbei mit einem Bleck affchecks - Dazo kann ich nur saare: "Frau Dat hätt Format, ich benn perplex!"
But that's already the most exciting, so I find the time to add a little in the blog. - When the laundry comes "not only clean, but pure" april fresh, soft rinsed and dry from the dryer, Torgit and I are happy.
Otherwise, there is not much exciting to report about the day.
Oh yes, one more small addition:
While the CDU in Germany is disintegrating and no one knows who can or wants to form a coalition with whom, the CDU here in Germany already seems to have moved on. It looks as if it is open to alliances with the left or the Greens. Because the streets in this region are lined again and again CDU election posters, which both clear symbols such as hammer and sickle, and a flower, which reminds of our Greens. But appearances are deceptive, because the local CDU has little in common with the Christian Democrats from Germany. The local Coligação Democrática Unitária is an alliance of the Portuguese Communists (PCP), the local Greens (PEV) and the political movement Intervenção Democrática (ID). - With approx. 5%, it is not exactly the middle class either.
Although in Portugal neither knows a Reformation Day and at least here in the region apparently also no Halloween celebrates, we came across HARIBO Vampire in a super market. A little bit of home and especially a little bit of licorice, yummy!
Realization of the day: You only appreciate your own washing machine and dryer when you no longer have one.
