We could hear the waves crashing against the cliff all night long. - Watching the sunrise from bed is a luxury, isn't it? - We have breakfast again with a view of the bay. - It takes time today to put yesterday's impressions into words. Then it's time to read. I have little to report today except that the sun is shining and it's peaceful.
While I read, Torgit explores the area a little. Motto: Where's the nearest beach? - Maybe she'll have something to report later.
That's how it is, but I don't want to get ahead of her. What she tells me sounds exciting. So I start the drone again briefly.
House 2.0 - Opposite us, about 500 meters away as the crow flies, are nice bungalows. This is what the whole thing looks like in reality and later from the air:
Torgit: From our pitch, we have a wonderful view over the bay to a hill with 3 pine trees. My curiosity to look around every corner and the tip from a neighbor that there was a beautiful beach there made me start walking. After a short time, I reach a barrier with an empty gatehouse. Following the motto 'et hätt noch jot jejange', I continue on and find myself in a huge parking lot with only 5 cars. It looks pretty new. A conference hotel? Without a conference today? I continue along a small path uphill past a few houses. These have seen better days. At second glance, I recognize boarded-up entrances and smashed windows. The houses look abandoned. It is well known that Spain has been hit hard by the global economic crisis and we have already seen a few abandoned shells on our tour. But this is a different dimension. The path continues, with a cliff on the left and more and more abandoned houses on the right. In the distance, industry appears on the horizon. Was there once a chemical spill there and am I standing on contaminated soil? Suddenly I hear a familiar whirring sound and a drone flies up from the sea in front of me. It is watching me. The new kind of gatekeeper or is Big Brother watching you? I feel uncomfortable, the whole situation is very spooky and I'm about to go back when an old man suddenly comes towards me and speaks to me. Due to my lack of Spanish, I only understand drone. Would that be mine? I can reassure him and then we see a woman sitting on a cliff below us, talking to someone below her. Next to her is a bag that looks like a drone. The situation looks familiar 😉 and all is right with my world again. Tourists. Too bad I can't ask the man why the settlement is deserted. I walk back in an arc and hear a familiar plop plop. A tennis court where people are playing. Next to it is a soccer pitch, both in good condition. Opposite, the supermarket and church are deserted. A man with a dog comes towards me, he speaks a little English and explains that this vacation home estate belongs to bankers. So the global economic crisis after all. Later in the square, there is talk of a state-owned vacation estate for public employees. - Supposedly there is no buyer for the site. - When I tell Marc about my walk, he immediately unpacks the threats and creates the first promotional video 😉
Whichever version is correct ...
We do not know. - In the end - The three ???
Here is a little addendum. - It's just too exciting what makes people happy. - I sent this photo to one of the bosses at my trusted car repair shop, PerfectCAR Cologne. Motto: Did I buy the right oil for Hector? From my point of view, olive oil would have sufficed. - But it was precisely this picture that caused such a stir in a garage. "...The prize for the most beautiful oil can photograph of the year clearly goes to you. A beautiful Spanish 'REPSOL can, unbeatable in front of a beautiful Spanish sea. What a laugh we had here this morning..." - I also bought the right oil. I even complied with the 50700 standard. -
Life and happiness sometimes seem so simple. - So if you're looking for a motivating, competent garage with international support in the Cologne area, you've come to the right place. I keep noticing that his classic car customers come from all over Europe. Thank you Carsten and best wishes to Kölle.
Insight of the day: A global economic crisis may affect the whole world, but some people suffer more and others less.
